What makes the College of Arts and Sciences at URI unique?
The College of Arts and Sciences at URI is unique because it fosters a sense of community. All of the faculty/staff are accessible and supportive.

What accomplishments and/or activities are you most proud of while at URI?
I am most proud of getting a grant to do my research and starting a Black Student Union.

What, if any, research projects, internships, and/or study abroad programs did you participate in at URI? How did they enhance your education?
I did a research project on the Negative Side Effects of Policing Black Women.

The project was supported with a grant from URI’s Office of Undergraduate Research & Innovation. It was an analysis of the effect institutions have on black women, analyzing the official laws, school rules, and workplace cultures put in place to police the black female body, and to see if the messages imposed on black women from the media and institutions impact cultural rejection or self-esteem issues.

What do you value about your liberal arts education?
My liberal arts education made me open to the world and challenges our generation has to overcome.
