Major:
Mathematics

Project:
Morgan is working with Noah Daniels, an assistant professor of computer science who specializes in algorithms that enable the manipulation of giant datasets like those produced in genomics, cosmology and social networks. Morgan will help with a work aimed at projecting high-dimensional data to lower dimensions to make it more manageable to analyze.

“I want to gain a better understanding of the mathematical underpinnings of Dr. Daniels’s algorithms for big data and to be able to make some meaningful contributions to that work. I hope to better understand the process of doing research–of how good problems arise, how ideas develop, how objectives evolve and how findings ultimately get communicated.” –Morgan Prior
