Project title
“Racial Inequality in Welfare Participation and Its Impact on Political Attitudes in the U.S.”

Project description
For his fellowship research, Ethan is comparing the welfare participation rates for different social groups across American states using data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (administrative data) and the US Census Current Population Survey (self-reported welfare participation data). Ethan plans to tabulate the data by social groups and by state, collect data on the total population and the under-poverty population for each social group in each American state, and calculate the welfare participation rates for different groups and compare them.
