After graduating in 2020 with a bachelor of music degree, Nicholas Schleyer is now pursuing graduate school. He is a trumpeter and educator.
Q. How did your URI degree best prepare you for your career path?
A. My time at URI taught me time management, organization, networking, and teamwork.
In your opinion, what is the value of the arts both academically and in the community?
The arts help to make a student whole, and are fundamental to their growth in becoming a member of society.
What advice would you give to current students or to young people thinking of pursuing a Fine Arts degree?
