Biography
John has held senior external relations positions at leading U.S. research universities, including Berkeley, Harvard, Stanford, and Columbia, as well as at the American University of Paris. He began his career as a higher education policy analyst for the Rhode Island Commissioner of Education.
John has a B.A. from URI and an M.A. from Indiana University, Bloomington. He has been on the boards of directors of Lambda Legal, the San Francisco Alliance Franรงaise, and Spark, a mentorship program for at-risk urban middle school students, where he was national board chair.
A native of Cumberland, R.I., John has lived for many years in California.
