Katherine Corey

Biography

Katherine worked for over 15 years in the library field before moving from her home state of Connecticut to Rhode Island. She began her career at URI in June 2022 at Carothers Library. Her most recent role was as a Higher Education Administrative Assistant II in Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering. Katherine joined the College of Arts and Sciences Research Support Team as a Specialist, Grants and Contracts in July 2025. Grants and Contracts Specialists liaise between department staff, research faculty, and Sponsored Projects. In this position, Katherine provides pre-award professional support with submission of proposals for grants and contracts for research and other scholarly activities. She also provides support for post-award activities relating to grant and contract proposals and funding.

She holds a master’s degree from Fairfield University and a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University.
