Kathy O’Donnell ’90

Biography

Kathy graduated from The University of Rhode Island in 1990 as a double major in Journalism and Communication Studies with a minor in Psychology. She began her career in the realm of nonprofits and went on to work for Citizen’s Bank (CB) as a public relations manager. Kathy became a Senior Vice President and was soon after promoted to her current role as Senior Vice President, Head of Public Affairs. Kathy’s role with CB remains connected to her roots in nonprofit work as she oversees their philanthropic, community outreach, and volunteer activities. Kathy also began an internship program in Public Affairs at CB and is recognized for her role as a mentor to those considering going into the field.

Kathy is also an active member of URI’s Harrington School of Communication and Media’s Executive Advisory Board and was recognized in 2015 at URI’s Distinguished Achievement Awards with the Dean’s Award for the College of Arts & Sciences. She and her husband reside in South Kingstown, Rhode Island with their two children.
