The University of Rhode Island’s Department of Music’s University Artist Series kicks off on September 12th with a performance titled “Make Them Hear You” featuring Melissa Joseph. Originally from Haiti, Joseph is a soprano singer currently under contract with Tri-Cities Opera Company in Binghamton, NY.
“Make Them Hear You” will include arias and duets from Handels’ Giulio Cesare; Puccini’s La Boheme and Mozart’s Magic Flute; George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess; and Okoye’s When I Cross That Line to Freedom.
Ms. Jospeh will be accompanied by David Gilliland, pianist, and Rene de la Garza, baritone. The performance will be held in the URI Concert Hall on September 12th at 3:00pm.
