Kenny Greene ’19 graduated in May — 25 years after first starting his degree — to fulfill a promise to his mother and win a bet with his daughter. “The best advice I can give is to utilize all the resources that are offered to you,” he says. “Don’t be embarrassed or nervous to take up a professor’s time outside the classroom. Professors appreciate kids showing interest in their class and what they’re teaching. They’re caring and giving people, use them and their resources.”

Nikki Noya ’00, an executive producer and co-host of the cable television travel show “The Jet Set,” was crowned Mrs. DC America 2019 in April and will compete in the Mrs. America pageant in Las Vegas in August.

In an upcoming April talk in Finland, Dr. Renee Hobbs will be discussing teaching propaganda in the digital age, tackling controversial topics in the classroom, her anticipated book and how “propaganda is the cause and the cure for what ails us.” She said it’s important to ask critical questions about what you watch and read, but it’s impossible to fully protect oneself from propaganda.
