URI Partnership with United Way of RI
URI OCEA is excited to partner with The United Way of RI to best meet engagement needs of our students and partners! We invite you to register your agency with the United Way of Rhode Island Volunteer Center. Combining our resources will make sure we are able to meet the needs of our students and the greater Rhode Island community. The Volunteer Resource Center is a ‘one stop shopping’ for volunteers, where they can find opportunities from over 100 Rhode Island nonprofits. Opportunities are searchable by location, agency as well as interest areas.
The Volunteer Resource Center platform allows nonprofits to set up their own agency microsite from which you can post your needs, manage volunteer opportunities, and if you choose, track, communicate, and manage volunteers. In addition, United Way publishes a weekly Providence Journal volunteer opportunities column which can get extra outreach for your needs.
Although you can always contact Alicia to discuss partner engagement, as a member of the Volunteer Center you’ll also have access to the expertise and support of United Way Volunteer Engagement staff to help you develop your agency’s volunteer programming and expand your outreach efforts. You’ll receive invitations to participate in United Way events (like 401Gives) and volunteer initiatives providing access to classes and student groups looking for projects and events that will help your agency build capacity.
