In addition to the main course requirements for all CMB majors, the following additional requirements apply for each of specialization:
Biochemistry Option
- BIO/CMB 341: Principles of Cell Biology
- CMB 412: Advanced Biochemistry I
- one additional 300-level or above CMB course determined in consultation with your advisor
Bioinformatics Option
- CMB 320: Introduction to Computational Biology
- CMB 450: Practical Tools for Molecular Sequence Analysis
- CMB 495: Seminar in Cell and Molecular Biology
- CSC 201: Programming with Data
- CSC 211: Computer Programming
- CSC 212: Data Structures and Abstractions
- at least 1 credit of a Cell and Molecular Biology laboratory course above the 300-level and at least 9 credits in specialty concentration courses
Microbiology Option
- CMB 333: Immunology and Serology
- CMB 413/415: Advanced Microbiology I/Lab
- CMB 414/416: Advanced Microbiology II/Lab
- CMB 495: Seminar in Cell and Molecular Biology
- one course selected from CMB 412, 432, 435, 450 or 576
- an additional 9 credits of 300-level or above CMB courses; or BIO/CMB 341, or CMB 437.
General Option
