On May 22, 2025, students from URISSLHA (URI’s Department of Communicative Disorders chapter of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association) gathered with RISHA board members as well as other local Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists at the RI State House. In addition to hosting an informational table, the students were invited to attend the opening of the Senate session as guests of Senator Hanna Gallo, who read a proclamation declaring it National Speech-Language-Hearing Month.
