CMD Student Awarded EURSCO Research Funding

The CMD Department is pleased to share that undergraduate student Frances Vice has received funding through the Early Undergraduate Research, Scholarly, and Creative Opportunities (EURSCO) Program at URI. The EURSCO program supports first- and second-year students as they begin engaging in research and scholarly work with faculty mentors. Under the mentorship of Dr. Alisa Baron in the Processing and Acquisition of Language in Multilinguals (PALM) Laboratory, Frances will contribute to an ongoing study examining reading and language processing in college-aged first-language Spanish speakers and second-language learners of Spanish. A CMD major with a minor in Spanish, Frances will gain hands-on training in research methods including eye-tracking technology, human subjects research procedures, and behavioral data collection and management.
