The Bystander Intervention Program at the University of Rhode Island provides education and awareness to the campus community regarding sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking, and promotes active bystanders to prevent these crimes.
The URI-Standers are a team of specially trained students who create and perform interactive bystander intervention workshops and programs to educate and increase awareness regarding:
- partner violence
- stalking
- sexual assault
- date rape drugs
- sexual harassment
- hate crimes
- community
- equity
- diversity
- …and related issues, as well as to provide community service both on and off-campus.
