Dangerous goods, abbreviated DG and synonymous with hazardous materials or ‘hazmat’, are substances that when transported by land, air or sea may be a risk to health, safety, property or the environment. Due to this risk, international and federal regulations require proper packaging, communication, handling, and stowage to prevent items from leaking, generating toxic fumes, starting a fire, or even exploding. Dry ice, biological samples, chemical samples and electronics containing batteries can all be dangerous goods. The EHS Office can ensure your shipment gets to its destination in a safe and compliant manner.
