Bio: Deniz Erdogmus received BS (1997) in EE and Mathematics, and MS (1999) in EE from the METU in Turkey; PhD (2002) in ECE from the University of Florida. He is a COE Distinguished Professor at Northeastern University. His research focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, signal and image analysis with applications involving Cyber-Physical AI/Autonomy, Behavioral & Biomedical AI, Human-centric AI. He received the 2003 IEEE-SPS Young Author Best Paper Award, 2004 International Neural Network Society Young Investigator Award, 2012 NSF CAREER Award, 2014 Northeastern COE Soren-Buus Research Award, 2019 Northeastern COE Mentoring Award. He has served as an Associate Editor for various journals, and as a member of IEEE Technical Committees for MLSP (Elected 2003-2009; Elected 2017-2022) and BISP (Associate 2009-2011, Elected 2011-2016).
