Guided College Visits for Chaperoned High School Groups
Engineering Up Close offers immersive, guided visits to the University of Rhode Island College of Engineering for chaperoned high school student groups. These visits provide students with a firsthand look at what it’s like to study engineering at URI.

Learn about applying to URI and the College of Engineering, including the application process, scholarships, and resources available to support students during their first year. - Tour of the Fascitelli Center for Advanced Engineering, with an Engineering Student Ambassador
Explore engineering labs, maker spaces, and other facilities with a current engineering student. Depending on the group’s interests, the tour may include interactive demonstrations and opportunities to see student projects and research in action. - Visit to a faculty research lab
We will work with you to identify a faculty research lab or labs that align with your students’ interests. Visit activities can be customized based on the group’s areas of interest. - Visit to the International Engineering Program
Learn about URI’s globally focused engineering opportunities, including study abroad, international research collaborations, and hands-on projects. Students can discover how international experiences can complement an engineering education and prepare them for careers in a global workforce. - Tour of the Narragansett Bay Campus with a URI Ocean Engineering student
Explore URI’s waterfront campus with a current Ocean Engineering student. Learn about the College’s ocean engineering programs, research, and facilities, and see how students apply engineering principles to real-world challenges. - Lunch provided for all visiting students and chaperones
Enjoy a complimentary lunch on campus and an opportunity to recharge and reflect on the day’s experiences.
