Biography

Darcey Lovell is a PhD student and Teaching Assistant in the Department of English at the University of Rhode Island. She is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, where she earned a Master of Philosophy degree in Popular Literature. She also holds a Master of Arts degree with a concentration in British Literature from South­ern Connecticut State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Central Connecticut State University.

Before coming to the University of Rhode Island, Darcey was an adjunct faculty member at Southern Connecticut State University, where she taught courses in the fundamentals of academic writing and in writing arguments. Darcey acts as an editor of Text in Context: A Graduate Student Journal, published by the English Department at Southern Connecticut State University. Her primary research interests center on 19^th century to contemporary literature, with a focus on the historical context and cultural impact of texts and developing genres.
