Amy Helminen

Biography

Amy is a PhD in English student and teaching assistant at the University of Rhode Island. She received a BS in English from Northern Michigan University and her MA in English from the University of Colorado Denver. Amy taught English writing courses in the community college setting for three years before moving to Rhode Island. Her research interests are in the areas of Victorian and modernist literature, with a particular focus on the works of Virginia Woolf. She also has a secondary interest in linguistics. She loves spending time outdoors and is particularly fond of the Duke Gardens, where she spent the majority of her teaching sabbatical. Her greatest joys in life are reading, teaching, and being an aunt.
