Biography

Aries Cubilla is a Teaching Assistant for the University of Rhode Island where she pursues her Master of Arts in English. She earned her B.A. in English from the University of Connecticut (UConn) and her Liberal Arts and Sciences A.A. from Three Rivers Community College (TRCC). As an undergraduate, she devoted herself to involving communities in education. She has been an English tutor for TRCC’s Writing Center as well as UConn’s Avery Point Academic Center; for the latter organization, she further engaged students online as Social Media Intern. In addition to her efforts made within her formal academic roles, Aries has hosted various open mics, creative writing workshops, and prose/poetry competitions for college campuses and their enveloping cities. Her current research interests include metafiction, contemporary literature, postmodernism, and the works of Margaret Atwood.
