Barbara Silliman

Biography

Dr. Silliman received her B.A. and M.A. from Rhode Island College, where she wrote her thesis on the propaganda issues of Muslim tyrants in the Corpus Christi cycle dramas of Wakefield. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island, where she wrote her doctoral dissertation on the propaganda elements within Frank Herbert’s novel Dune. She is the recipient of the Never Again Award from the Jewish Alliance of RI for her continuing work educating college students about the Holocaust and for her work on the Yom Ha’Shoah organizing committee. Her other areas of
research and publication are science fiction, modern genocide, and film narratives.
