Serap Hidir

Biography

Serap Hidir’s research focuses on literary representations of the Near East and Near Eastern subject in nineteenth-century American literature. She engages in rigorous historical and theoretical analysis for her dissertation work. Her interest in cultural representations in literature and its implications in social and political life provides a critical foundation for her teaching. She has been teaching various courses, such as “The American Short Story,” “U.S. Literature I: From Beginnings to the Mid-19th Century.”
