The Equality Winston-Salem Scholarship was established in 2013 to provide scholarships for students who have shown leadership and vision in a Gay/Straight Alliance at their school or in the general LGBTQ community if no such alliance yet exists within their school.
This year North Star LGBTQ Community Center will award up to $3,000 to deserving applicants. Scholarship monies will be applied to the cost of undergraduate tuition, fees, room and board, and/or other college expenses. In any given year, if there are no qualified student/s identified by the scholarship deadline, funds may be carried over and awarded the following year.
Eligibility: First-year Undergraduate (Freshman),
Second-year Undergraduate (Sophomore),
Third-year Undergraduate (Junior),
Fourth-year Undergraduate (Senior)
Minimum GPA: 2.0
