The John Lewis Young Leaders program is a year-long fellowship program to equip students with the necessary skills to become effective social justice and civic leaders. Throughout the course of the year, fellows engage their campus and local communities in human rights work through a capstone project. Applicants should be a student enrolled in a 2 or 4 year accredited program located in the United States. Preference given to students located in the southern and midwestern part of the US, students attending an HBCU, HSI, or HMSI; and/or students from marginalized communities.Fellows receive a $2,000 professional stipend, 1:1 mentorship, $1,000 in funding for events and activities related to the completion of their project, and other benefits.
