The University of Michigan Future Public Health Leaders Program (UM FPHLP)

The University of Michigan Future Public Health Leaders Program (UM FPHLP) is a 10-week residential program at the University of Michigan School of Public Health (UM-SPH) designed to encourage underrepresented college students to consider careers in public health. The program is intended for college students in their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year who are undecided about their career goals and are in good academic standing in their area of study. Students are not required to have previous experience in public health.


Accepted students will receive a stipend to attend. In addition, travel and housing costs will be covered. The stipend amount is $3000 received in four equal payments over the summer. The stipend is intended to assist you in order to cover some of your living expenses during the program.


Eligibility: Second-year Undergraduate (Sophomore), Third-year Undergraduate (Junior), Fourth-year Undergraduate (Senior)
Minimum GPA: 2.7
