On September 28th, 2017, an individual spouting hatred towards the LGBTQ+ community made a stand outside the Memorial Union. Within a few short minutes, a large group of LGBTQ+ students and allies rose up to combat this close minded person. The crowd grew and grew by the hundreds in the name of freedom of love and identity. On this day, the students of the URI community made a stand; LGBTQ+ discrimination will not be supported at URI.
