On April 16, 2014, URI broke ground for a new Gender and Sexuality Center on Upper College Road. A little over a year later, on May 6th, 2015, we opened our doors for the first time. This was a $2.1 million, 4,300 square foot project approved by President Dooley in the Fall of 2011. URI is the first institution of higher education in the country to design and build a free standing Gender and Sexuality Center. This page is a record of the construction and grand opening of for our new center!
