URI Writing Award Competition 
The 2021-2022 URI Writing Award celebrates the best writing produced by URI students.  There are separate competitions for graduate and undergraduate writing.  The awards will recognize work that has an impact, understands audience, purpose, and form, and demonstrates rigor and precision.  Categories are: Advocacy, Scholarly/Research, Science Writing, and Creative.  Apply by March 1: HERE.

Grants for URI Grad Students Available through HEERFIII American Rescue Plan
Graduate students enrolled in a higher education institution during the COVID-19 emergency are eligible for financial grants through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF III) legislation.  Funds are available regardless of whether a grad student completed a FAFSA or is eligible for Title IV aid.  Grad students enrolled and matriculated with an official 2021-22 FAFSA on file at URI and an EFC of $0-$14,999 will receive a grant of $1,500 for full time enrollment.  You can apply for a grant HERE.

Russell Sage Foundation Dissertation Research Grants
RSF Dissertation Research Grants for graduate students in the social sciences provides $10,000 grants to support innovative and high-quality dissertation research projects that address questions relevant to: Behavioral Science and Decision Making in Context; Future of Work; Race, Ethnicity and Immigration; Immigration and Immigrant Integration; and Social, Political, and Economic Inequality.  If you are interested in applying, we recommend contacting Katie McGwin or Jenn Brackett, URI grant writing specialists who will help you with drafting and submission.

Social Science Research Council – Fellowships & Opportunities
