Biography

Jenna Guitar received her Ph.D. in English along with a graduate certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies from URI in May 2020. She also has a master’s degree in English from SUNY New Paltz, and bachelor’s degrees in English and Theatre Arts from New Mexico State University.

Jenna’s most recent publication is a chapter titled “The Vampiric Nature of Transmedia Storytelling in the Buffyverse” in the edited collection Gender Warriors: Reading Contemporary Urban Fantasy (2019). Jenna’s primary research interests include intersectional feminist and queer approaches to popular culture and Gothic literature.
