Located in Chafee Hall, The Broadcast Center and TV Production Studio and adjacent fifteen-seat Control Room house state-of-the-art technology to facilitate all forms of digital production, streaming, and broadcasting. The studio is managed by a three-time Emmy Award-winning technical director and operated by a highly trained team of students. Pedestal and robotic cameras and fiber optic cables connect the studio to athletic facilities and event venues around campus, allowing students to produce events at remote locations.
After a recent $1.25 million renovation, it has been transformed into a state-of-the-art studio. In addition to regularly scheduled classes, student clubs and organizations use the studio to produce The Daily Ram show, The Good Five Cent Cigar’s newscast and sportscast, interviews by The Anchor Sports Network, and other video productions.
