The Union Express is located on the first floor of The Memorial Union. All resident students are assigned a unit (box) number. Students in Greek Housing are unable to receive mail at the Union Express.

Our Union Express student employees log packages throughout the day from the different carriers. You will receive an email from the mailroom@etal.uri.edu when your package/mail has been processed and ready for pick up. Please wait for our email confirming it’s ready, not the carriers!

When you arrive for your package/mail pick up please swipe your URI ID at the KIOSK and we will retrieve your items, call your name and have you show us your ID at the counter for your package/mail checkout.

If you have any questions when at the counter feel free to ask at that time, there will be an employee available to help.

Students are allowed to ship to their HRL mailing address beginning on August 13th, 2022.

Here is your correct mailing address:

Student’s Full Name
Union Express
50 Lower College Rd. Unit XXXX* (assigned to you)
Kingston, RI 02881

* You unit number can be found in MyHousing

Please leave off hall name and/or ID number on your packages or mail!

Receiving Mail and Packages

  • The Union Express does not have the capacity to store refrigerated items and is not
responsible for flowers or perishable packages.
  • All mail and packages must be picked up at the Union Express counter. Packages will be held for 2 weeks before returned to sender.
  • Summer Session students will be assigned a temporary number in the 6000’s for their use while staying here. Returning HRL students will continue to use the assigned unit number from the last Semester.
  • Please stop by our counter, so we can answer your questions or assist you with your package or mail issues.

Food Deliveries

To receive food deliveries from local restaurants or grocery stores, you’ll need to use the street address for your residence hall. Enter the name of your residence hall in the URI Interactive Map to find your street address.

Please note that exterior doors to residence halls are locked 24/7, so you will need to meet your delivery person at a designated door.
