The Center for the Humanities is pleased to announce the launch of a virtual monthly brown bag series on Wednesdays at noon for the 2020-21 academic year. Our goal is to bring our community together for intellectual exchange on a regular basis, and to give our scholars an opportunity to share and workshop projects they are working on. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we will operate as a virtual series via Zoom for the upcoming year.
We welcome proposals (due August 1) from any humanities faculty (contingent and tenure-track) and graduate students for presentations about research, teaching, public humanities or digital humanities projects. Our dates for the upcoming year are Sept. 16, Oct. 14, Nov. 18, Dec. 9, Feb. 10, Mar. 10 and April 14.
Your proposal should include the following:
- Your name, department affiliation, student or faculty status, and contact information;
- A title for your presentation;
- A brief (at least one paragraph but no longer than one page) description of your presentation;
- A brief (two to three-page) c.v. highlighting previous research, teaching or publications related to the proposed presentation;
- A specification of any dates you are not available, or would prefer. (If you hope to present material for which you need feedback by a certain date, please make that clear.)
