Nico Tracksdorf Receives Premiere National Award in Language Education

Congratulations to Nico Tracksdorf of the Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures department! Tracksdorf was awarded the Nelson Brooks Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Culture from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages which recognizes educators whose writings and teachings change the course of the profession. Tracksdorf is recognized for his work on the textbook series, “Impuls Deutsch” which provides an interdisciplinary and inclusive approach to teaching German. The textbooks highlight diverse perspectives from German-speaking populations unheard from until now, such as LGBTQ+, Jewish, Black, and Turkish communities from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein.
