The walking tour pairs locations on campus that appear in Jhumpa Lahiri’s novel The Lowland with short passages that show Gauri’s perspective and her difficulty feeling at home at URI as an accompanying spouse. Participants will use a smartphone app to listen to recordings of these passages as they reach the proper locations. This experience is designed to help students to better understand the diverse experiences of persons on-campus.
