“Hashi”

Adrián Montero Moya and Moé Takamatsu – Department of Music

Montero and Takamatsu, both graduate students in Music, perform the program Hashi (Bridge in Japanese) which bridges cultures and combines traditional and contemporary composers from Japan and Latin America. The concert includes both solo and chamber music for classical guitar and piano which reflect cultural similarities and differences. With this duo project, Montero and Takamatsu aim to share their unique cultures through music and to reach out to a wide range of audiences from around the world. They believe it is a powerful way to connect with people from different backgrounds and bring them together through music. In the long run, this duo project will lay out the groundwork for further deepening the understanding of their cultures, explore them through music, and share their rich aspects.
