The National Humanities Alliance’s podcast, What Are You Going to Do with That?, offers a counterpoint to arguments that discourage humanities study. Now in its second season, the podcast explores the lives and perspectives of everyday people who studied the humanities and are finding fulfillment in a range of careers. Their stories debunk widespread misperceptions about humanities majors’ career prospects by highlighting some of the limitless possibilities for applying humanities knowledge and skills in today’s workforce—as well as opportunities to leverage such skills to improve our world. Importantly, the podcast is designed for students, as well as those who advise them.
