Moons of Jupiter is a collaborative visual event between artists Jacob Richman and Kevin Gilmore, and astronomer Scott MacNeil. On Friday & Saturday, September 10 & 11, Moons of Jupiter will be performed at Frosty Drew Observatory in Ninigret Park. Doors open at 7:30pm and the event begins at 8pm. The event is free, but donations to Frosty Drew are suggested.
Gilmore, Richman, and MacNeil combine acoustic and electronic music, live video and telescope imagery with scientific presentation to explore the astounding worlds that orbit Jupiter. Following the performance, Scott MacNeil will lead a Q&A session and an open viewing of the night sky using the Observatory’s telescopes. Moons of Jupiter was funded by a Center for the Humanities “Winnie” grant.
