URI AI Retreat: AI and Advanced Computing in Research

URI faculty and graduate researchers from every discipline are invited to an AI Retreat focused on AI and advanced computing in research. Connect with colleagues who are using artificial intelligence and advanced computational methods to strengthen research across a wide range of fields.

Space is limited. Please register by October 30 to reserve a seat and help the organizers plan food.

What to expect

  • A welcome from the hosts, with snacks and beverages
  • Short talks from FY 2027 IACR seed-funded teams
  • Parallel discussions organized around disciplinary interests identified through registration
  • Interdisciplinary Birds of a Feather conversations about applied AI and computational techniques that span disciplines
  • Takeaway lunch—or stay to continue networking and enjoy the GSO shoreline view

Faculty in computer science, data science, AI, and other computational disciplines are especially encouraged to join the discussion groups. During registration, participants can suggest disciplinary groupings and indicate interdisciplinary discussion tables they would like to lead or join.
