Building Anna Fascitelli

In 2013, doors opened to our newest wellness and fitness center named after Anna Fascitelli. Oftentimes, buildings receive names after their most impactful donors. However, University of Rhode Island Alumni of 1978, Micheal Fascitelli, decided to dedicate the building in his mothers honor. Her name was Anna.

Anna Fascitelli RunningURI Alumni Foundation article explains that The Fascitellis wanted to give back to the URI community and emphasize their families commitment to education. Education spans beyond majors, labs and classrooms. There is so much to learn about health and wellness and Anna Fascitelli is a center that provides students with countless ways to get in touch with their health.

Anna Meditation RoomAnna Fascitelli Fitness and Wellness Center has always been my favorite place to got. What I enjoy most is their focus on creating more outlets for mindfulness. The Alumni Foundation Article quoted, “The new state of the art fitness and wellness center will help URI students keep their bodies healthy while they exercise their minds in the classroom,” said Bill Hatfield, Rhode Island president, Bank of America.Their mind/body study holds some of my favorite classes like Barre, Yoga, Pilates. They also run programs on wellness like self-care night, reiki demos, and a meditation room available for students to take a break during the day.

Most group ex classes I take out of anna Fascitelli because of the locational convenience. It also has a great locker room for commuters like me to take advantage of, including locker, changing rooms, bathrooms and showers.

Anna Yoga RoomFor nearly 10 years, Anna Fascitelli has been a great hub for students to go for physical and mental health outlets, and to learn more about how to balance health and school.
