Before you apply: Click here to review MARC U*STAR trainee eligibility. Applicants will be asked to upload their resume/CV and provide the names of two (2) URI STEM professors* whose research interests you. You will be asked to describe why their research interests you in 250 words or less. Recommendation letters are optional. Additionally, you will be asked the following questions:
- Do you have any research experience outside of the classroom?
- Describe why you are interested in pursuing a graduate degree in the biomedical sciences, i.e. Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
- Do you come from a underrepresented background? [Note: For NIH’s guidelines, visit their website]
*The URI MARC U*STAR program includes faculty from many departments including Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Cell and Molecular Biology, and Chemical Engineering. You are encouraged to visit faculty web pages to learn more about their research programs.
