Overview
The M.S. degree allows you to individualize your program of study, so in addition to courses in mathematics, you might include courses in computer science, engineering, and other applied areas. You can choose from two tracks: pure mathematics and applied mathematics.
Program Requirements
- Choose a Pure Mathematics or Applied Mathematics track.
- Complete 30 credits or 24 credits plus a 6-credit thesis.
- Earn at least 15 credits at the 500 level or above.
- Non-thesis students complete 1 credit of MTH 591 or MTH 592, including a substantial independent research paper.
