Bobby was born, raised, and resides in the Fox Point section of Providence.

After graduating from both East Providence High School and the Rhode Island College Upward Bound Program, he entered URI through the Talent Development Program in 2001.

During his time at URI he served as a Residential Assistant and as a member of the URI Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

In 2006 he graduated from URI with a B.A in History, a B.S in Secondary Education and with minors in Africana Studies and Psychology. After completing his time as an undergraduate, he began working as a High School Advisor for the College Crusade of Rhode Island, where he is also an alumnus and current member of the Board of Directors. He then returned to URI for graduate school where he completed his M.S in College Student Personnel. From graduate school he went on to work as the Coordinator of Student Diversity Initiatives for URI’s College of Environment and Life Sciences and shortly thereafter returned home to TD where he served as an Academic Advisor for over eight years.

In addition to Bobby’s off campus affiliations, he has spent the last eleven years as a member of the URI Alumni of Color Network (ACN), where he has served as Co-Chair for the last several years, as well as the advisor for/alumnus of the multicultural student organization Brothers On a New Direction (BOND) for over the last ten years.

Through his current role within the Multicultural Student Services Center Bobby has every intention on establishing the Center to become the space that the Black Student Leadership Group (BSLG) fought for in November 1992. He recognizes that he stands on the shoulders of the students from the various movements that took place at URI which paved the way for him as a student, paraprofessional, and professional at the University. He also recognizes and will honor his obligation to serve the current students that the MSSC is designed to serve in honor of his comrades from previous generations and those of the future.
