The University of Rhode Island’s Metcalf Institute hosted a Peter B. Lord Seminar on the Environment in partnership with the New England Science Writers exploring how shifting temperatures affect marine ecosystems from New England to the poles.
Speakers at the public seminar discussed the implications of warming oceans for organisms from phytoplankton to commercially important fish and shellfish, as well as our livelihoods and economy. See the agenda below.
Journalists received story ideas, new contacts, and opportunities to network with regional scientists studying climate change.
The program was funded by grant #1638834 from the National Science Foundation.
