Brandon Benguaich

Biography

Brandon Benguaich is a Board-Certified Music Therapist whose work has focused on the intersection of music, mental health, and addiction. Aside from being certified as a Music Therapist he is a licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor. He has extensive clinical experience supporting individuals in mental health settings, long-term care, and pediatric settings, and has presented regionally on music therapy and its applications in addiction treatment. From 2020 to 2025, he served as Website Administrator for the New England Region of the American Music Therapy Association.

Brandon received his Master of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2018, with a concentration in music psychotherapy. His graduate research explored the history of the Latin American Music Therapy Congress. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Toronto in 2016, where he studied double bass under members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and performed primarily with the University of Toronto Concert Orchestra. Brandon also has an interest in Eastern-European and Secular Jewish music and is a two-time scholarship recipient at the KlezKanada Summer Retreat in Quebec, Canada.
