URI Ocean Engineering researchers  have been collaborating with Bangor University, UK regarding tidal and wave energy projects. This collaboration includes wave-tide interactions studies, assessment of energy resources and impacts of ocean energy extraction on the environment. Several research papers and a textbook have been published as a result of this collaboration.
