Fundamental Principles

The Office of the Ombud is guided by three main principles of the International Ombudsman Association.

Confidentiality – Every complaint brought to the Ombuds will be held in the strictest confidence.

Independence – The Ombuds do not hold other positions within the University so as to maintain independence when handling cases. The Ombuds decide the direction to take any and all complaints brought forward.

Neutrality – The Ombuds are unbiased, impartial, and do not serve in any roles that would compromise their neutrality.
