Dual Enrollment closed for 2026-2027
As of July 22, 2026, applications into the Dual Enrollment program at the University of Rhode Island are closed for the 2026–2027 academic year due to limited availability.
All students who have already been approved and enrolled in Dual Enrollment will continue to receive full support in enrollment throughout the remainder of the academic year.
Public high school students still seeking URI courses and academic credit for the 2026-2027 academic year should contact their high school guidance counselor to discuss concurrent enrollment courses that may be available.

Overview
The URI Dual Enrollment Program offers HS students the opportunity to enroll in college-level courses at URI as a part time non-degree student.
The State of Rhode Island covers the cost for public high school students to dual enroll in on-campus courses—up to 11 credits per semester—during the fall and spring terms only. Course costs for private school and homeschooled students are not covered under this state-funded program. Additionally, homeschooled students are not eligible for course costs to be covered.
Textbooks and/or other course materials are covered by the student’s school district.
Are you a high school adminstrator?
To get started, please provide a support letter for the student and their dual enrollment plan. This letter should include a school letter head, your contact information, student name and URI ID #, and the planned courses and numbers.
