Advancing Biotechnology Literacy Since 2001

The Bioliteracy Foundation (formerly Lifeedu.org) is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to advancing public understanding of genetics, genomics, biotechnology, and emerging biological technologies. Founded in 2001 by Dr. Albert Kausch and a distinguished group of scientists, educators, and industry leaders, the Foundation develops educational programs, resources, and outreach activities that promote biotechnology literacy and informed engagement with the life sciences. The Bioliteracy Foundation has been a longstanding collaborator and contributor to the educational and outreach mission of the URI Plant Biotechnology Laboratory, including biotechnology literacy initiatives, public engagement activities, and the development of the Issues in Biotechnology course
