Raymond Cox

Biography

Dr. Raymond W. Cox III joined the Political Science Department as an Assistant Teaching Professor in Fall 2022. He received his PhD in Public Administration and Public Policy from Virginia Tech. Dr. Cox is the author of six books, more than seventy academic and professional publications, twelve reports for government agencies, as well as more than eighty professional papers. He worked more than 16 years working at all levels of government. His academic career that stretches across nearly 4 decades. He was recognized for his academic and professional service by receiving the Donald Stone award from the ASPA and the Sweeney Award from the ICMA.

Dr. Cox teaches courses for the MPA program including seminars in Public Administration and Policy, Ethics, Public Personnel, Critical Topics in Public Policy, Public Budgeting, and Public Finance, Public Policy Problems, and the Capstone in Public Administration.
