Biography
Dr. Ashlea Rundlett is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Master’s in International Relations program at URI, where she teaches courses on research methods, democratic backsliding, and Latin American politics. Her research focuses on democratic governance, corruption, and political participation, and has been published in leading journals such as the American Political Science Review. She is co-author of the forthcoming book, Science and the Study of Human Rights (SUNY Press), which uses data-driven analysis to examine global rights protections.
At URI, Dr. Rundlett serves on the leadership team of the Rhode Island Survey Initiative, helping to oversee statewide polling and public opinion research. She is also active in civic engagement on campus, including co-organizing the 2024 URI Honors Colloquium, “Democracy in Peril.” In 2023, she won a College of Arts & Science Teaching Excellence Award.
